Paying For Care
We understand that the cost of care can be a major concern for our clients and their families. We will always work with clients and their next-of-kin or advocates to make sure that the package of care is affordable whilst still delivering everything that is needed to the highest standards.
We also offer flexible invoicing options, and you can receive your invoices weekly, fortnightly or monthly to suit. Payment can be made by cheque or bank transfer for convenience.

Many people now receive Direct Payments (also known as Personal Budgets) from Social Services. This scheme was introduced to give people more control and independence over the services that they use, instead of Social Services arranging it for them. However, it can be a daunting prospect for many people because they effectively become an employer.
The Extra Mile Care Company provides services to many clients who receive Direct Payments and the advantages of using us include:
- All of our staff have Criminal Records Bureau enhanced disclosures and are fully referenced
- We provide full training to all staff
- We can change care staff when required and cover sickness/holidays
- We take care of all NI and tax payments and holiday pay
- We are fully insured (Employer’s Liability, Public Liability, Professional Indemnity)
We will work with you to make sure that you get the most out of your budget and the service that you require. We can offer invoicing schedules to suit (weekly, fortnightly or monthly).
For more information on Direct Payments, you can go to the DirectGov website
If you are referred to us via your local authority Social Services then they will handle all of the financial side of the service. However, you can expect the same high levels of service and involvement from us and on-going liaison with Social Services and family members to ensure that your changing individual requirements are always met.
