When you have decided that you need extra help or support, it can be a daunting prospect and confusing in how to get the ball rolling, whether you want to start care in a few weeks or this evening!

The Extra Mile Care Company aims to make this process as smooth and easy as possible. Once you have made an initial enquiry we will guide you through the following steps:

• Assessment – one of our Care Managers will carry out an obligation-free assessment at a time and location convenient to you. They will gather as much information as possible about your background and your needs. This includes a social history and personal preferences and not just your medical history.
• Follow Up – Using the information from the assessment, we will contact you to discuss the options available and advise you on how to proceed.
• Care/support Plan – Once the best option has been decided, we will formulate a thorough care plan which will include the scheduled hours, tasks and instructions for care workers, medication schedules and any other information needed to deliver the agreed service.
• Carer Introduction – a Care Manager or Care Supervisor will then introduce suitable care workers to you. Using the information from the initial assessment, the Care Manager will liaise with other members of the office team to propose the most suitable members of the care team.
• File in Home - There will be a file kept in your home which will include a copy of the Care Plan, all of our contact details, contact sheets for the carers to record their visits and activities and any other records that need to be maintained.
• Service Start – once you are happy with the Care Plan and choice of care staff we will begin the service on your approval.
